This restaurant seamlessly bridges tradition with a warm, inviting atmosphere, making it an essential stop for both locals and travelers seeking an authentic Balinese dining experience.

The heart of Balique’s menu lies in its masterful presentation of Indonesian classics. The Rijsttafel, a vibrant banquet of diverse flavors, is a highlight — offering everything from Soto Ayam and Beef Rendang to Chicken Satay and nuanced vegetable dishes like Gado-Gado. This feast captures the essence of Indonesia’s culinary landscape, inviting diners to savor a variety of tastes and textures in a single sitting.

Each plate is thoughtfully composed to honor traditional spices and techniques while appealing to contemporary palates.

The beverage selection enhances the overall experience. From soothing teapot-served black, green, and herbal teas imbued with lemongrass, jasmine, or chamomile, to unique cocktails such as the Kopi Martini and the fragrant Asmara, there is something to accompany every meal with a fitting layer of complexity and refreshment.

The restaurant itself offers a blend of antique charm and casual elegance, characterized by eclectic décor, candelabras, and beautifully set tables. This space fosters an intimate yet approachable ambiance that invites relaxed enjoyment without pretension.

What distinguishes Balique further is its attentive and genuine service. Stories from diners speak of staff’s attentiveness, from personalized explanations of each dish’s origins and ingredients to heartfelt gestures like assisting guests beyond the dining experience. This level of care reinforces the feeling that you’re in a place where hospitality is valued as deeply as the food itself.

Balique is well-suited for those who delight in cultural immersion through cuisine — couples seeking a romantic yet unpretentious night out, families desiring to explore the rich diversity of Indonesian flavors, or food enthusiasts eager to uncover authentic regional tastes within Bali’s vibrant culinary scene.

The antique and eclectic place feels intimate, yet approachable and casual at the same time, with its beautifully set tables and candelabras. I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious—every dish was full of flavor and clearly made with care. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. A special shout-out to the manager, who went above and beyond. We were having some issues with our ride, and they personally helped us sort everything out and even stayed with us until our ride arrived. That level of dedication and kindness is truly rare. Highly recommend this place for great food and outstanding service!

We came here on our last evening in Bali, actually few hours before our flight and it was a befitting feast. We ordered the Rijstaffel (somewhat like an Indian thali) which had several types of curries, salads, rice, corn fritters and of course sambal. There were complimentary prawn crackers and we also ordered fresh coconut, along with a cocktail and mocktail. The piéce de resistance was absolutely the Rijstaffel which was shared amongst three of us (we are not heavy eaters) but it’s good for two adults for sure. Highly highly recommended as a cultural and a culinary experience. The gentleman who was serving us did an amazing job of explaining each dish and its constituents. The dessert was also local delicacies, lots of coconut, pandan and a blob of vanilla ice cream - decadence, loved it ! They have a nice gift and knick knack shop, the girls loved it. We wished we had adventured out of the Intercon earlier and discovered this place. If you are in the area, do give it a go.
